Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #148404

I offer in person sessions in my cozy, tranquil office in downtown Walnut Creek, and virtual/phone sessions from anywhere in California. I am currently taking on individuals and couples .

I am committed to cultural sensitivity and LGBTQIA+ affirmative care as well as trauma-informed care. I have worked closely with issues of identity, trauma, depression, anxiety and shame. I've spent significant time on work devoted to self-compassion, queer identity and sexuality/relationships, and family systems work.

I  have extensive experience with clients who identify as neurodivergent, gender nonconforming individuals, or folks who otherwise experience themselves as falling outside one distinct box. I work within many therapeutic approaches scaffolded around a grounded and authentic person-centered modality of compassion, patience, and deep emotional attunement.

My approach strives to deconstruct internalized messages of shame and pain inflicted by oppressive structures (this can be societal, familial or otherwise) to help people process underlying trauma, reconnect with their values and sense of purpose while developing self compassion. I want to help you connect to yourself , your loved ones, and your goals from the heart and support you on that journey.

As a therapist I am collaborative, direct and warm. I take an active approach to therapy (I will interact with you and provide actual input!) without being a know it all about what is best for you or telling you what to do (because that is something only you can determine and that’s not what a therapist is for). But I will try to help you zero on in your most authentic values, needs and sense of self in a way that equal parts productive and transformative. I want to help you heal and deal so you feel truly in the driver’s seat of your own life in a way that is empowered, informed and balanced.

My approach

I have a limited amount of remaining spots for adults, teens/kids as well as couples, families and parents looking for support.

I utilize a multitude of therapy modalities with clients and tailor treatment to the individual based on their concerns, however things I tend to focus on: gender/sexuality/identity/LGBTQ issues (I am sex-positive and inclusive and myself identify as a member of the queer community), neurodiversity affirming care (I am a member of this community as an adult with later in life diagnosed ADHD who has done a lot of my own work around this!), trauma (including trauma inflicted by systems of oppression and capitalism), career issues and phase of life concerns, grief, depression/anxiety, burnout and low self-esteem, body image issues (I practice from a health at any size and fat inclusive perspective) and family/relationship conflict including parenting concerns and marital issues. I am deeply committed to cultural competency and sensitivity and utilize a family systems framework and a non-coercive, collaborative and empathic approach. I love to help families achieve more harmony via mutual accountability, authenticity and communication skills rooted in emotional regulation and vulnerability.

I help individuals become more compassionate with themselves and have witnessed (and experienced) how much life opens up when we can build a more loving relationship with all parts of ourselves (even the parts that are traumatized and scared). We are all capable of cultivating internal resources to care for our nervous systems and our hearts, even if it feels foreign.

Every single person deserves a compassionate and safe space. I have been the client, I have been the isolated sufferer, so low and deep in my anxiety and depression that I truly never thought I would be ok or feel like a person. Getting into therapy utterly transformed my life. I am so grateful I get to do this work with other people!

If this resonates with you, feel free to schedule a free consult-even if I am not the right fit, maybe I can find them someone who is. Times are incredibly heavy and heartbreaking. Please take care of yourself, and know that your your feelings and needs are valid and important!
